To begin with, you need to bring along a few essentials. These include a comfortable swimsuit for swimming, a towel for drying off when the fun is over, and a brush to keep hair neat. Furthermore, tie up your child’s long hair to avoid discomfort during swimming. Also, ensure your little one is fresh and has used the restroom to keep their class flowing smoothly.
If your child is under 3 years old or not fully potty trained, they must wear two swim diapers. You have two options: either wear one disposable swim diaper with a reusable diaper on top or wear two disposable swim diapers together. This is crucial for the health and safety of all students and instructors.
Lastly, your children must be up to date on all their vaccinations. These requirements are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for everyone at 123 Swim ABC. Enjoy your swim!
You may reschedule up to six make‑up lessons per year for free while actively enrolled. Make‑up lessons can be booked up to 72 hours in advance and are subject to availability.
Our goal in every lesson is to gradually replace fear with confidence, comfort, and a sense of safety in the water.
Typically, by age 4, children are ready for swimming lessons to learn basic skills like floating and treading water. As they grow, they can refine these skills and learn actual strokes. By the time they reach age 5, their understanding and mobility significantly improve. However, it’s important to note that some children might be shy, anxious, or struggle to coordinate their arms or legs.
On another note, it’s crucial to remember that swimming lessons do not make children “drown-proof.” Instead, they aim to teach them “water competency” skills. These skills are designed to increase your child’s comfort in the water, and, more importantly, they can potentially assist them if they encounter difficulties while swimming.
There’s no need for concern! Our skilled educators are adept at identifying variations in abilities, comprehending your child’s skills, and determining whether a level adjustment would be advantageous in any direction. We acknowledge that everyone has a distinct pace and method of learning.
That’s why our instructors monitor their students closely and alter their teaching techniques as needed. We continually evaluate our students and are highly flexible in catering to each child’s unique strengths and areas for enhancement, assuring they attain remarkable progress!
For children with little or no prior experience in swimming, it’s essential to understand that a single lesson may not be sufficient. They typically need a longer period to adjust and get used to the new environment of swim lessons.
Should your child already have some swimming experience, perhaps due to a recent move or a desire for a change from their current school, feel free to select the level you believe is most suitable. We’ll then assess their skills in the initial lessons. We may propose a different level to optimize their learning if they are beneficial. We aim to create an engaging and stimulating environment that allows your child to progress in their swimming journey at a pace that’s just right for them.
While goggles can aid visibility, kids must also learn to swim without them. This approach is crucial as it prevents panic in unexpected situations. Specifically, in our initial classes like 123-Swim and Swim-ABC (Part A), we strongly advise learning without goggles to promote comfort and adaptability.
We bill about a week ahead for the upcoming month. Per‑lesson pricing is always available on your local 123 Swim ABC swim school page.
No pool? No problem—many foundational skills, such as kicking, breath control, and water comfort, can still be practiced safely in the bathtub.
Consistent, playful practice at home can make a big difference!
